see the frayed and soiled
mattress tied down
by bungee cords
to the back of a pickup
truck, streaming down
the highway,
along side
a small desk and chairs,
a plaid sofa
in shades faded by
sunlight,
a child's swing set
in pieces, you can't help
but wonder,
what else has gone wrong.
