i deem today as the day that
i will
go through the house
and pick up
clothes from
the floor,
from the stairs,
the couch,
pants and shirts,
socks,
and after that it's time
to collect
empty coffee cups
and saucers,
forks and spoons.
i'll put
the opened books
back on the shelf.
and maybe if i have the time
i'll go around
and collect
my assortment of
tossed shoes,
put the butter back into
the ice box.
