the warm sink water

we

wish it was

that easy,

to be free of sin,

as the New Testament says,

to rub our

hands together

with God's redeeming

grace under

the warm sink water,

dry them

and begin again,

unsoiled.

dirt free.

we want to believe

that truth,

that we can

all start over, be

clean once more, 

but

the problem

is our memory.
