i offer
you my coat
when we're cold and shivering
as we cross
the street,
when the wind
blows
my hat off
and i pull up my collar.
the long talk has tired us.
i try to take your
hand,
but your love
has waned,
and you refuse my kindness.
everything it seems,
including the weather,
has changed.
