cameras, we had to sit still
in a chair,
or on a horse, perhaps
stand
by a dog or child
and let the artist paint us.
we couldn't move
an inch,
as the painter carefully
captured
our smirk or smile,
our solemn
countenance.
sometimes the pollen
would make
us sneeze.
sadly, there was no delete
button and no button
to try again,
there was no, take one more,
please.
