a house along the shore,
and the ocean
takes it.
it seemed like a good
idea
at the time.
as did the house in the woods
made of lumber,
quickly gone
during fire
season.
we moved into the city,
but then
the riots
came.
the looting and murders,
the high
cost of everything
overwhelmed us.
and now
we're thinking concrete,
steel and stone,
space age
metals.
a bunker with gun turrets
where
nothing can
go wrong. maybe
on an island somewhere,
but something with a view
and service
for the phone.
