Uncle Ben's Rice

i get an invitation

to another

wedding.

but no plus one

is on the card.

i'm in shock that they would

want me

to go to their wedding,

with my

track record and streak

of bad luck.

but i'll go just the same.

i like cake, i like watching

grown men

and women

dancing with children,

drunk out of their 

minds.

i'll bring a toaster oven.

the one

i never opened

or used.

just need some silver

paper

and a ribbon and i'm

all set.

but i do need another

box of Uncle Ben's

Rice.
