when the car was invented, and i said,
to Martha,
this will never
last.
cars, pfft, oil, engine,
tires,
gas.
what if it breaks down,
then what,
we're stuck out in the middle
of Ohio
in some cornfield.
horses are the way to go.
horses will
last.
put some metal shoes on them,
give them
a sack of oats
and away we go.
i felt the same way about
computers
when they arrived,
pffft,
why do i need a computer
when i have
encyclopedias
and an abacas?
pencil and paper and an eraser.
fingers to count on.
i have the farmer's almanac.
i felt that way about
phones too,
smoke signals
have always been a good way
to communicate,
the written letter,
the pony express,
the mailman always rings twice,
rain, snow, sleet, hail,
not to mention the telegraph
and
two cans connected by a string.
AI, pffft.
