bad for fish in general,
whether
cod or perch,
flounder or Chilean Sea Bass.
tricked
onto hooks,
swept up
into nets.
out for a casual swim
beneath
a sea, or lake,
minding their
own business
and suddenly on someone's
dinner plate.
i could hardly
look them in the eye,
as a child,
when i pulled
the hooks from their
stiffened lips
along the Potomac shore.
