preachers,

teachers

and politicians, somehow

they seemed

better than

us, mere mortals.

they were higher on the food

chain

than you, or I.

and then you

woke one morning and realized

that they were

as dumb and corrupt

as the rest

of us.

just old-fashioned sinners,

living out

their secret lives.
