lot,
the way we dismiss bugs
and things
crawling
on the ground.
mice
and rodents, squirrels
in the attic.
how quick we are
to stamp out the spider,
to swat the fly,
to call pest
control
to get the bats
or snakes out.
we have no feelings towards
them.
their family,
their daughters and sons,
what they've accomplished
with their lives.
we are a cruel
lot.
we want them gone.
