the Fauci Diary

the smallish
man, a virologist,
a so called health care expert
who could be a double
in Woody Allen
movies,
has apparently kept
a diary of himself,
describing his
celebrity status after
becoming famous when
the illness left
Wuhan.
oh, the names he drops,
from
Bono
to Barbara, to Julie.
Wolf and Jake,
and all
the actors large
and in-between.
he's known worldwide,
his smiling face on
the cover of Rolling Stone
and
People Magazine.
get vaccinated, stay six
feet apart,
no more schools or
Thanksgivings, he proclaims.
Christmas is canceled.
no gathering at the beach
or parks,
no more sports or concerts.
let's put the world on hold
until we figure this
pesky virus out.
i guess we never should have
funded and created
this virus after all, killing
over a million people.
whoops, my bad.
now get in line for your shots
that don't work
and may have serious side
effects,
he scribbles into
his diary
before the lights go out at night.
everyone must wear a mask,
preferably ones
made in China,
special delivery,
but me,
and my select group of friends
i'm meeting
for dinner and dancing
tonight.
would you look at me now.
who would have thunk it.
i'm a celebrity.
