jumps from the water
and gets
a fish
tossed into his mouth from
the handler,
poolside.
the dog
rolls over, plays dead,
begs,
and is rewarded with
a biscuit
for his efforts,
but cats will have none
of that.
they look the other
way
disdainfully
when you speak.
some of us are trained
like the dog,
and others
like the cat
don't really care or
give a damn
about a treat.
