thousands in a slow crawl
through Mexico,
carrying
their luggage and children,
babies,
goats and
chickens.
cell phones
to their ears. hoping
that in November
the mid term
elections
will change everything
and the border will
be open once more.
the pearly gates will swing wide
and paradise
will welcome them with open
arms.
plane tickets, vouchers,
credit and voting cards.
free food and healthcare,
all of their
hearts desires.
our tax dollars will be
thrown into the air
like confetti.
and of course,
there's
no need to be alarmed.
