father won the lottery for
a few hundred
thousand dollars,
they took a picture of him
on a stage
holding an oversized
check.
he looked scared
and baffled by all the attention.
he had no clue
that the photo would be plastered
all over the internet.
and when
i google searched his name,
there he was.
holding the check,
worried that his nine children
might find out
about this windfall.
and under his name was my
brother's name, who has the same name
as my father,
promoting legislation
to try and keep gambling out
of the state of Tennessee.
the irony is priceless.
