it's tight though.
it's been
eight years since i
last wore it
to a different funeral
and a sham
wedding a few months
before that.
it's a grey suit.
white shirt, a conservative
dark tie.
a shiny belt with matching
shoes.
but it's tight around the waist now.
i can hardly button
the tiny top bottom
to get the tie around my suddenly
fat neck.
there's been too many slices
of white bread
since the last time i wore it.
too many donuts,
pasta dinners late at night,
too much Kung Pao Chicken
and egg rolls
before bedtime.
as soon as this funeral is over
i'm back to the carnivore diet.
no sugar, no starch, no seed oils.
i might have to wear this suit
a few more times.
