stopping by to say hello

some

people like to go to the cemetery

and talk

to the dead.

to cry at the old gravesite,

or air their

grievances

for them leaving so soon,

maybe they'll set

something on

the stone,

or on the new grass

that covers the dirt.

it's cathartic

i guess.

but strange just the same

to be speaking

to someone that isn't there,

to be conversing

with buried bones.
