i had
buyers remorse,
the second the big
orange chair
arrived on the truck
and was placed
at the far corner of the rug.
the rest
of the room
disappeared,
like a distant sun
it was all we could look
at,
from morning noon
into dusk.
the sun never set
on this bright orange
mid-century
modern chair.
i set
the price at half of what
i paid,
and by the end of the week
it was gone,
a nice couple from Middleburg
put it in the back
of their Range Rover.
voila, and now
a nice tan chair has
taken
its place.
