Souls untied

there are cords
between us,
those out there in the world.
spiritual
connections.

emotional ties, soul ties
through love and trauma,
through intimacy
and friendship. relatives too.
some are true angels, but
some are toxic and demonic,
dark
and dangerous, filling
your mind
with ruminations and lies.

controlling the peace
of your own soul
as they once did in the flesh,
but do now from afar.

you need
to be done with them, to cut
the cords, the ties
that bind
and be free
of your past, of those
lost souls
that wreaked havoc
in your life.

bring out the axe,
the knife,the torch,
cut them now,
you're wasting precious
time.
