smart isn't everything

i remember
when i lived next door to albert
einstein's
cousin,
jimmy.
he wasn't the brightest
bulb
in the box,
the sharpest
knife in the drawer.
in fact
he'd ask
me if i could help
him
turn the water on
to the outside
faucet.
but he made a nice batch
of mimosas
when we had brunch
on sunday morning.
and had quite a few
women friends,
who'd come to visit
and sunbathe
in the back yard
after he'd spray them with
a garden hose.
being smart isn't everything.
