gold mine

there's beauty in nearly
everything.
in all people.
but it's our own making,
for the most
part.
we perceive
or trick our minds into thinking
gold is really
gold,
that it just isn't
the surface,
the gleam of someone
in the sun,
but there has to be more,
a lot more
waiting inside the mine.
so you go in to dig,
but it's empty
and eventually it all
caves in.
