I crack a few eggs.
some flour,
sugar,
vanilla.
the mixer
goes on.
in no time the oven
is ready.
I slide the pan in
at 325.
thirty five minutes
later,
I hear the ding,
I turn on
the light and take
a peek.
push a toothpick in.
we have cake.
I let it cool on
the window sill,
then I ice it with
deep dark chocolate.
come on over,
bring milk.
