my brain needs a break

sick of the wars,

the protesters,

the gab fest of newscasters,

the pundits,

the politicians, the stupidity

and ignorance

of the world

i change the channel

and begin to watch a marathon

of Twilight Zone episodes.

i make a giant bowl

of popcorn

and push the recliner back,

and settle in.

my brain needs a break.
