as the children

march

on the streets, clueless

with their

flags

and signs,

their chants.

they are birds without wings.

wasting

their precious time

when

they could be learning,

reading,

becoming

better people,

more forgiving,

more kind.

for one moment

if they could put down

their anger

and look at both sides.
