never leaving the nest

some kids

never

leave the nest. never

fly away

and build their own,

never laying

eggs.

despite the college

degree

the car, the clothes,

the food,

the bed, they've

never had to struggle,

or work too

hard.

why leave when

there's the basement,

or the upper room,

the mom

or dad, or both,

keeping

them safe and warm.

the meals cooked, 

the laundry done.

why leave, 

and fly into the unknown,

when you can have

this instead.
