was young, i looked at his
homework,
his tests
and quizzes and asked
him why
so many words were
misspelled?
why the math was wrong,
the history
twisted.
his writing looked like
a chicken
had dipped it's claws
in ink
and dragged them
across the paper.
he had an A plus at the top
of every page.
he smiled and said
teachers don't care about
stuff like that
anymore, Dad.
they want us to be happy
and feel good
about ourselves.
