settling on the snow globe

to buy a tree

or not buy a tree this year?

to go down to the church

and haggle

with a man

in a red hat and drinking

whiskey from a flask.

is it time

for the plastic one?

the one

already with lights.

already decorated

and stores easily in the attic.

all i have

to do is plug it in, no

tying it down,

or watering it.

no falling needles, or

fire hazard.

what about one of those

little ones

i can set on the table?

simple and easy,

no strapping it on the roof

of the car.

or how about the kind

in a little glass globe

that i can

shake and make it snow?

i can put it on the window

sill so that

anyone walking by will

know,

that i'm into Christmas

this year.

i think i've

made my decision.
