slash
holiday blues, things still have
to get done.
the plants
need watering.
the dog
has to go on his walk.
there are bills
on the table.
dishes and clothes
that need to be washed.
there is little time,
to sit
and ponder
the weight of life,
the trouble underfoot,
so you carry it with you
as you get
things done.
