I go to the hospital
to visit her.
I peek in through the narrow
window.
she's in bed.
a white bed,
she's wearing white.
she's asleep.
she's disappearing,
just bones now.
the wires keep her alive.
the machines blink
with white,
with green,
with red eyes.
she's not long for this world.
it hasn't been easy.
for her or anyone around
her.
finally her heart will cease.
was it dark, or light,
who knows.
it's hard to explain.
what isn't?
