it's almost rude
to say hello these days.
to hold a door,
to tip a hat,
to help a stranger with
a bag,
or ask the time.
to make eye contact.
the world has changed.
our phones,
our screens, our technology
has
taken the civility out
of our souls
and driven us mad.
