I pick the booth in the back
to the left.
and say, i'll meet you there.
I like this spot, this seat,
this view
of life walking by on the street,
coming up
the aisles.
the waiters, the couples,
the elderly
being helped in.
I get what a I always get,
a steak
and garlic mashed potatoes,
tonic and gin. she gets salmon,
of course
and red wine.
we reach across the table
and hold hands.
how wonderful it is to heal
under the magic
wand of time.
