detaching myself
from whatever sentiment
that might lie behind the gift
or purchase.
pictures, shirts, rings,
emails, cards, texts,
just about anything
left behind
can be tossed with me.
i like to start over with a clean
slate. a nice empty shelf
for a new beginning.
