who left it like this?
the rusted
swing set in the yard,
the blackened brick
from fire.
the bike with one wheel
on its seat.
i want to know about the tire
chained to the tree.
the refrigerator
without a door, pink, and
leaning against
the wall.
an old car on blocks,
the hood up.
i want to know about the broken
windows,
the clinging shutters,
who planted those roses
in the garden, still insisting
to grow?
