path that runs along the quiet
homes
in the cul
de sac.
the light is dim as i carefully
step forward
and away
again.
i know not
this trail, but others once
loved
know it well.
i won't return. but
it's a necessary
passage
taken as an exit
from
a once
infernal hell.
