we all turn our heads and ignore
what
others do
or say, or think, or how
they behave.
enabling them.
we're civil to a point.
allowing
friends and lovers
to do what
they may.
we rarely hold their
hands to the fire,
for then what? we fear
being alone,
being stranded on an island,
with the world
so far away. such a mistake
we make.
when it's best
to draw a line and say
no more.
no more abuse,
it's over, starting today.
