it is the blank stare,
the gaze
of empty.
the far off look of puzzlement
that throws
you off, makes
you wonder
who you are dealing with.
a true self,
or someone in the game,
being
what they need to be
in order to manipulate
and control
a world she cannot ever
truly know
or believe.
