see and feel those that were just
like you
in a room full
of people, at a party.
the ones
in the chair, against the wall.
leaning into
shadows,
observing.
not dancing, not having
exaggerated
conversations, or
engaged in small talk.
like you,
they were watching what
others do,
sipping their drinks,
biding time,
checking their
watches,
keeping an eye on the exit,
waiting for the right
moment
to go through.
