waiting for inspiration
as i listen
to the dead poet read his poetry
in black and white
in the garbled
video
on YouTube,
i wait and wait,
for that magical word
or insight
and inspiration,
to pause the poem,
and run into the other
room,
to write
my own.

not forever
mirror mirror
which pepper spray is right for me?
give me some space, please
the smarter sex
she was telling me something
fame is easy now
the scaffolding on 5th avenue
getting busy in the bramble
keep it as a book
i'm Barbie, what's up?
her high school reunion
it's a tai chi kind of thing
this is the end, but in awhile
what lies below the surface
the feminist loophole
trial without jury
maybe it's the mercury
Cupid must die
that's not funny
waterfront property
turning the other cheek
a break in the weather
Tai Kwan doe
long distance dating
the winter wind
getting away from it all
the AARP stripper
her poetry box
thirteen steps up or down
let's move past that
having the sex talk
bring out the fire hoses
nineteen hours of football
writing is rewriting, they say
there is no now
living on easy street
read the room and get out
faux kings and queens
set the oven at 350
the next stop on the train
grow up
fading beauty
waking up in this world
a flock of birds in chorus
how to stay together in a relationship
i'm one of those now
a fashion statement
cheaper to keep her
1984 redux
let's make life easier for the criminals
brother can you spare a dime
Sunday morning mass
the bathtub photo of her leg
ruling the world 101
cold pressed virgin olive oil
a cold front moving in
in quiet boxes we go
she was never happier
Jake, the day worker
she's not a car person
they're waiting on me
what not to eat
squeezing you in at noon
no one prepares you for this
holy ground
becoming him
Catholic Girls
the nightstand tells all
Ingrid from Ireland
dear God help me open this ketchup bottle
looking under her bed
finding our bench
let's play a game
writing under a pseudonym
don't pull my thread
how to make a ham sandwich
reaching over to the cold space
goodbye and good luck
the other side of the tracks
sorry, but we already filled that quota
riding the rollecrcoaster
ending the chicken strike
the painting estimate
no longer factory parts
the YMCA steam bath
the 1965 Tupperware Party
not everyone old is wise
thirty years later
i don't believe in broccoli
clam chowder
the headache poems
just ten quick hits of dopamine
it's cold out
the napkin in his coat pocket
don't wake up, just yet
some new hipster music
diamond in the rough
catching a large white fish
in the trenches
