dear God help me open this ketchup bottle

i'm at war

with plastic bottles,

getting them open, for one thing,

is difficult,

with wrench in hand,

pliers twisting

with herculean might,

then tapping

out the last

few ounces on the counter

of whatever is stuck inside

adds to 

the trouble.

ketchup,

ranch dressing.

cream in a box.

so much stuck on the inside

no matter how hard

one taps

on the bottom,

twists and turns,

and curses, trying to coerce

out the final

dollops.
