this slick of oil,
circular
and rippling
with colors
across the lake.
a rainbow of sorts
in the cold sun.
a ship is leaking
somewhere,
or someone has changed
the oil in their car
and dumped
the old petroleum here,
but what a lovely
piece of art it is.
this skim
of grease and grime,
floating
so close to fish.
so wonderfully sublime.
