i can't tell with that uniform

and bag

over his or her

shoulder.

and the beard.

it looks freshly grown,

like spring

grass.

can i call her dear,

or miss,

or sir?

the high heels

are messing with my head.

maybe i'll just take the letter

to the blue

box on the corner

and not bother her

to put it in the sack.
