the falling price of heavy cream

i notice

that the heavy cream

in my

grocery store has

gone down by

over a dollar and a half

for a quart,

over the past year.

why isn't this

on the news?

i haven't heard one pundit

talk about this.

all they want to talk about

is the price

of gas.

i can't drink coffee

without a dollop

of heavy cream stirred into

my drink.

we need to get our

priorities straight.
