between screen and window

as i stand

at the kitchen sink

with a warm

hard

boiled egg in hand,

looking

at the bee trapped between

screen

and window

wanting in,

or out,

it's hard to know,

i drop the shells

of the egg into

a cup,

then salt the white

before a bite.

the struggle of this bee,

i know.
