into the pool, the clean
clear
pool
before the kids arrive,
and open
our eyes
to see the blue
bottom,
the white lines,
the crystal sun shining
through.
it's a diamond
we are in
as we swim from side
to side.
away
from the world until
the whistle blows
and all
the kids
jump in.
