the surprise package

surprised

on this early morning,

i find a package

on the porch.

what have i ordered now?

i slowly

unwrap the package,

cutting

with scissors

carefully the edges.

it's a blouse,

a book on knitting,

and a pink hat,

none of which are my size,

and the book

is nothing i care to read.

i take a second

look at the writing on

the package.

my neighbor's name

is inscribed

again.
