my leg is asleep

my leg

is asleep, but i'm not,

i'm wide awake.

it tingles

from hip to foot

and

weirdly

burns

in a benign sort

of way.

so i shake it, which

wakes up

my wife, who asks me

what i'm doing.

go to sleep

she says.

i'm trying to, but only my

leg wants

to cooperate.

i saw a video on YouTube

the other day

on neuropathy,

i think i might have that.

oh my God,

she says,

then takes her pillow

to the other

room.
