did someone forget to lock
the rest home doors?
they chant and yell, hold
up their home-made signs.
they whistle and blow
their horns.
stamp their feet at the cars
driving by.
there's a table under
the shade tree with cookies
and Ensure,
free sunscreen, and prune
juice.
it goes on for nearly an hour
or so, until sometime
reminds them that it's
dinner time.
