my first hot yoga class

i sign up

for a hot yoga class

down at the community center.

it's more of

an effort to meet new women,

some limber

and flexible ladies,

and less

about getting in shape.

i'm in my

new yoga pants,

a combination of spandex

and cotton

with a polyester blend,

but a little

tight

in the wrong places,

if you know what i mean.

i'm carrying my rolled up

mat and have 

a red white and blue

head band on.

i take a long sip from my

personal water bottle,

as i find a space in the back.

it concerns me

that there are no windows

open, and no fans.

an hour later

i wake up in ambulance

with an IV

in my arm.

and a brace around my

neck,

i've been informed

that they won't me back.
