in line
in the hallway, waiting
to use
the bathroom in the morning.
a towel
in hand,
a toothbrush.
a comb.
the girls took too long,
the boys
were in an out.
by the end of the morning
rush,
there was
no hot water left,
the seat left up.
but my mother
sighed
and smiled,
we were gone,
and out of the house.
