too many days in a row.
you begin
to see that the carpet
needs cleaning,
the walls
need paint.
you see the dust,
the mud
tracked
on the tile.
spills on the stove.
maybe it's time to change
that dead
lightbulb
in the hallway.
perhaps pour Drano
down the drain.
what is that dripping noise
i hear?
was that a mouse
scurrying across the kitchen
floor?
hopefully the sun will
come back
tomorrow
before i open
the refrigerator door.
